About Tom Baker

Originally from Minnesota, I studied photojournalism at the University of Montana School of Journalism. In 2006, while in the midst of an internship at the Portland Tribune in Portland, OR, my father had a severe hemorrhagic stroke. I returned to Minnesota to help my family and eventually started freelancing.

I named my business after the Manitou River in Northern Minnesota, as it is a special place to me where I’ve spent a significant amount of time camping, hiking, and taking photos over the years. I even proposed to my wife on its banks.
